Why is this game the ultimate game?

Why is it that people, like myself, are more passive than active when it comes to this game? Upon reading more of Flow I have come to better understand why.

Personally I have been looking towards extrinsic goals-such as beating a friend at who can get more girls/numbers, or wanting to impress my friends with a new HB10 girlfriends-as being my main concern, which then makes actually getting out in the field a distraction, rather than an incentive.

This game is the ultimate game because it has all four broad classes of games. “Roger Caillois, a French psychological anthropologist, vided the world’s games into four classes, depending on the kind of experiences they provide. Agon includes games that have competition as their main feature, such as most sports and athletic events; alea is the class that includes all games of chance, from dice to bingo; ilinx, or vertigo, is the name he gives to activities that alter consciousness by scrambling ordinary perception, such as riding a merry-go-round or skydiving; and mimicry is the group of activities in which alternative realities are created, such as dance, theater, and the general arts.”

Agnostic

  • this is where you compete, where it’s you against all the other guys in the bar/club/wherever you are. The goal of the competition is to score, and you score by getting the ball/target.

Aleatory

  • this is where you have the illusion of controlling the inscrutable future. This is done through different ways. For Speed Seduction they recommend you obtain the feeling first, then seek that feeling from others (ie your target). Others, such as David DeAngelo, recommend you take in the belief that “it’s always on”, and that, given the right time/place, you could be with any girl.

Vertigo

  • this is where you alter consciousness. This is done mostly in Real Social Dynamics’ bootcamps where the student is pumped up before going out through music, running around, and jumping up and down. They also are pushed into all kinds of sets immediately. When the student completes a set, they will be turned and pushed into a new set and expected to open it.

Mimicry

  • this is where we put on a disguise when going out. That can be done through using one’s nickname for an introduction, pretending that we are Neil Strauss/Style ourselves, or just inventing our own character.

Combine the vast knowledge available into one system and make it your own.

How can you not love this game? Every improvement in this game makes everything else seem so easy.
