Clubbed To Death

An inspiring music video that I watch often is Rob Dougan’s Clubbed To Death. When I first saw it I asked myself, “What the hell is this? Is this it? Why would they feature this song in the Matrix movie?” I replayed it again, and again. After about five replays I finally figured out why they featured the song in the Matrix.

The focus of this music video is on the main character (Rob Dougan). He begins as part of the majority. He looks up at the ‘big shots’ and decides, “I want to be like them.” He begins to push forward, but life pushes him back. He plows through regardless. When people see this they are worried. They begin to yell at him to stop.

Why would others try to stop his forward progress? Others are not used to forward movement. Others do not like change, they like consistency. That brings comfort. If you change then it makes them uncomfortable, because they are used to the “old” you.

His focus is on his goal, not others. His plowing through becomes habitual and he begins to fly past everyone and everything. Eventually he becomes the ‘big shot’ he wanted to be.

His determination influences a young girl. We see, through her eyes, his influence on her.

Enjoy.

Its cool to know that others understand the real message behind these matrix movies. the true illusion of our existance is our insatiable desire and belief that we all have equal chances of obtaining the western dream. When in reality most of us are nothing more then slaves of the system.

Nice. I like Daft Punk’s Stronger. That always gets me fired up.
