When I started out I was also scared of getting into fights. I took action and learned Black Dragon Kung Fu, Grappling, Kickboxing, and Canadian Combat Training. Learning all these martial arts got me pumped to get into fights. I did get into fights. I won some, and backed out of a few. The best advice is to not get into fights, cause your opponent will get in at least one hit. So go out, have fun, and if a guy wants to kick your butt say you're sorry and buy him a drink. V I have been in a few fights.
