Why You Shouldn’t Watch TV
By V on Dec 7, 2007 in Ramblings
We’ve all been told that television is the Devil! Why? Cause it teaches us nothing. I agree with that 100%!
BUT WAIT!
Those same critics will still watch television for the news. To them watching the news is a good use of time.
I say, “Nay Nay!”
You would think that our local news would inform us of what’s really going on in our world; that the majority of people are consumers living pathetic lives. Hells no. They’ll tell us that there’s great fun at the local theater, dangerous people lurking in our neighborhoods, politicians taking our hard earned money, more B.S., more B.S., and . . . Oh yeah! More B.S.
Imagine if the corporations, who owned the television stations, taught us how the world truly works! Well then we wouldn’t be watching television. Maybe we’d start up a competing network to put them out of business!
That’s not going to happen. They’d rather teach us to stayed tuned, cause they’ll be right back after a short commercial message!
The 2008 U.S. Presidential race is a perfect example of the false reality we are fed.
I’m a Canadian, and like most Canadians we love learning about American politics.
There is only one man that stands out in the Presidential race. That man is Texas Congressman Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is doing a great job at standing out from the crowd. He’s like a Guru PUA among a group of AMOGs.
Is this intentional? It’s tough to say. Lincoln put on a beard, top hat, and humble persona. Did it work? Look at an American penny and you tell me.
Now take a look at the following graph. It compares Google Trends (on the top; how often people inquired about the current Presidential candidates) to mainstream news media (on the bottom; how often mainstream media discussed the current Presidential candidates):
Clearly the public has a greater interest in Ron Paul (true reality), but mainstream media feels Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani are the interest of the public (false reality). Why? Cause there is no way in Hell Ron Paul will be beneficial to mainstream media corporations, according to Paul’s current agenda.
You would think that people are smart enough to see the silk veil being placed over their eyes. Sadly, older generations (I’m 22) stick to believing what they see on TV.
At the moment the Internet is a great source to find both sides to any one story. This allows you to decide the “truth” for yourself.
Will the Internet become mainstream media? It’s already starting to.
That is why you should forget what you know. Turn off the “boob tube”. Let others stress while you live life.
Seriously. It’s Friday night. Get out of the house!

true man so the question is do you watch tv?
I believe Ron Paul uses the internet to make him appear to be getting a lot of buzz. The internet is not pure either man, anyone can game the internet..
It’s hard to tell whether the Ron Paul phenomenon is actually going to turn into something tangible or not. I can’t shake the feeling it’s a bunch of nerds in their parent’s basements blowing the whole thing out of proportion. The internet is a massive bullshit factory / noise machine / echo chamber rolled into one and it’s hard to say whether any actual change will come out of it.
